Lihasdystrofiauutisia!

Helsingin Yliopiston tutkimusryhmä on saanut aikaan geenitestin schapendoesien myopatialle (aiemmin tunnettu lihasdystrofiana). Tutkimukseen osallistuneiden koirien tulokset on toimitettu omistajille ja jatkossa testi on mahdollista teettää kaupallisesti Utrechtin yliopiston kautta. Lisätietoa täältä.

Update on muscular dystrophy!

University of Helsinki has now developed a gene test for Schapendoes myopathy (formerly known as muscular dystrophy). Those who have participated in the study have received their results today. In the future, testing will be done commercially at University of Utrecht. For further information here.

A huge thank you goes to Maria Kaukonen along with the rest of the research team and to all the owners (and dogs) who have participated! Now we have another tool to help our breed!
