Schapendoesien pääerikoisnäyttely pidetään Suomen Seurakoirayhdistyksen erikoisnäyttelyn yhteydessä 8.8.2026 Villa Mainiemessä Lammilla.

Myös pennut 5-7kk ja 7-9kk sekä jälkeläisluokat.

Introduction – Renate Chiodi – Netherlands

Let me introduce myself. My name is Renate Chiodi, I am 59 years young, and I live in the south of the Netherlands with my husband and our two Pyrenean Mountain Dogs.

My love for dogs started at a young age. I received my first dog when I was three years old, a Toy Poodle. Since that day, dogs have always played a significant role in my life. In 2000, we welcomed our first Pyrenean Mountain Dog into our home, and the breed has remained close to my heart ever since.

In 2008, I was appointed as a judge for my first breed, the Pyrenean Mountain Dog. Since then, I have expanded my judging portfolio to breeds from FCI Groups 1 and 2. I am also a judge for breeding assessment for the Dutch Schapendoes.

Over the years, I have judged at numerous national and international dog shows as well as breed specialties.

Besides judging, I have been actively involved in breed clubs and cynology for many years. 

I served on the board of the first breed club for the Pyrenean Mountain Dog in the Netherlands for 18 years, including 11 years as chairman. For the club’s 25th anniversary in 2005, I wrote a commemorative book about the history of the association.

For ten years, I also held a board position with the association of judges in the Netherlands. 

I developed the educational program for the breed examination of the Pyrenean Mountain Dog and served as both lecturer and examiner.

I am also the co-founder and chairman of the second breed club for the Pyrenean Mountain Dog, officially recognized by the Dutch Kennel Club. This association operates on an international level.

As a true dog enthusiast, I appreciate every breed, but my special passion lies with herding dogs, cattle drivers, and livestock guardians. I love to see these dogs working and strongly believe that a good dog should always be sound in body and mind, and above all fit for function, each breed in its own characteristic way.

It will be a pleasure and an honour to judge these wonderful breeds at your show.
